SKIP Moves NYC Office to Starrett-Lehigh Building

Oct. 1, 2010—One man’s rotten commercial real estate market was another man’s (or in our case, “kid’s”) dream come true.  SKIP of New York was able to capitalize on the decreased demand for commercial real estate in the City to claim a plum spot on the 5th floor of the Starrett-Lehigh Building overlooking the Hudson River on West 26th Street in the Chelsea section of Manhattan for its main location. (SKIP also has offices in Rochester and Buffalo.)  It's 40,000 square feet of hope, help and possibilities.

“SKIP has never had offices like this,” said Executive Director Margaret Mikol. “This physical space has elevated us. It viscerally reflects the hope and help we bring to the families we serve. The expansive Hudson River views mirror our own view of the growth we can achieve, to make sure every child in New York who needs our help gets it.”

Thanks to our landlord who left all the great fixtures, furniture and infrastructure, we were able to stay true to our ethos of pinching a dollar out of every penny that comes our way so that we can serve as many medically fragile children as well as kids with developmental disabilities as possible.
